At Syracuse Hebrew Day School, our alumni remain an integral part of our community long after graduation. Many alumni regularly return to participate in school events, volunteer, and give back in various ways, reflecting the enduring bonds formed during their time here. Lifelong friendships and connections are a hallmark of the SHDS experience, fostering a strong, supportive network that lasts a lifetime. We are so proud of our alumni.

  • 2025 Alumni Spotlight: Sarah McKenzie

    Sarah McKenzie is program strategy and innovation director of The Solidarity Center, which champions women’s rights, both in and out of the workplace, and has partnered with many women’s rights organizations around the world, including the Black Women’s Roundtable. McKenzie serves as co-chair of BWR’s Global Empowerment Working Group and connects Black women labor leaders from Africa and the African diaspora to BWR. She also helped launch the East African Women’s Roundtable in November 2023.
  • 2024 Alumni Spotlight: John Davis

    John Davis is the Chief Transformation Officer at Payoneer. He is responsible for delivering the company's annual business and operating plans and executing the cross-functional programs and strategic initiatives of the company. John brings over 20 years of experience including executive leadership roles in Payoneer's CEO Office after managing Payoneer's strategic marketplace partnerships globally. Prior to Payoneer, John was a partner director of Corporate Strategy at Amdocs, a global hi-tech company, and a VP at Shaldor, a leading strategy management consultancy, both based in Israel. John holds a BA from Cornell University and an MALD from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. He served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in the Eastern Caribbean in the field of information technology.
  • 2023 Alumni Spotlight: Stephanie Scherr

    Dr. Stephanie Rabin Scherr is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience treating adults and children with OCD, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, insomnia, and tic disorders. She also specializes in treating body-focused repetitive behaviors such as trichotillomania (hair pulling), excoriation (skin picking), and nail biting. She utilizes various evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapies (CBTs), including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Therapy (CT), and CBT for Insomnia. In addition, Dr. Scherr offers counseling and consultation for clients struggling with infertility. Dr. Scherr has provided psychological services in a wide variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, research clinics, and private practice.  Dr. Scherr earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University and her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. Dr. Scherr has been involved in clinical research since 2006 and has presented at national and local conferences. She completed a research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and has published original research in several peer-reviewed journals.  Dr. Scherr is currently serving a 2-year term as a Board Member for the Central New York Psychological Association.
