Welcome to Grade 3! For those of you who are first time Third Grade parents, you are in for a year of exciting times and experiences in the lives of your children.
Ask a Day School graduate to describe Third Grade in one word and they will undoubtedly say “cursive”. Ask a Day School parent to describe Third Grade in one word and they will undoubtedly say ”homework”. Actually, these are wonderful examples of both the content and study habits your children will develop over the course of the year.
Many parents ask about the things they can do at home to help their children throughout the year. Here are some ideas and suggestions that will definitely enhance your students’ experience.
Provide a quiet workplace.
Help establish a homework “attack” plan.
Read together.
Visit the library.
Review spelling words.
Help study for tests.
Help students MEMORIZE addition, subtraction and multiplication facts.
